Sourdough Storage

Sourdough is a highly perishable product. No additives. No preservatives. Just plain simple ingredients.

With a few precautions, you can eat fresh bread every week.

Short Term Storage

Sourdough will stay fresh in bag for 3-5 days.

For optimal freshness, slice bread as needed. The more exposure to open air, the faster the bread will spoil.

Pro tip: Keep the end slice of the bread, the heel. Use it as a cap to keep the bread from drying out.

Long Term Storage

Freezer storage is a great option. Just pop the bread into the freezer and pull out when ready to use.

Do not store in the refrigerator. The Fridge is a natural dehydrator, it will dry out the bread.

Another option, for toast, is to pre slice the bread, place in freezer, and toast from frozen.
